Audit Execution is the process of completing an audit in the field by working through its sections and answering each question. During execution, users can answer questions, add Action Items or Observations directly to individual questions, and respond to any follow-up questions that are triggered based on their answers. Audit questions can be answered in any order and are automatically saved as progress is made. Any unanswered questions can be returned to and completed at a later time.
This article walks through each aspect of the audit execution process, including how to start an audit, navigate its sections and questions, and use the tools available to capture accurate and thorough results.

Starting a New Audit
- On the left-hand navigation menu, select
Audits.
- Click on the
Add Audit icon.
- Fill out all of the information fields for the new audit (fields marked with (*) are required).
- Once you have entered all of the details for the new audit, click on the [icon] Create & Add Questions button.
- After clicking the
Create & Add Questions button, the audit’s detail page is displayed.
❗ If an audit has not yet been started — meaning no questions have been answered — and has a status of Draft, its details may be edited depending on the user's role and relationship to the audit.
If desired, to edit an audit’s details, click on the edit icon within the details of your desired audit record.
Answering Audit Questions
- On the details page of the audit, click on the
Execute Audit button.
- Scroll down and use the
arrow icon to expand your desired question.
- Select an answer to the question, your select is automatically saved.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 until you have answered all of your desired audit questions.
âť— The Audit Questions dropdown, located above the list of audit questions, allows users to filter which questions are displayed. By default, All Questions is selected. Users can filter by individual section, or view questions by status such as Answered or Unanswered, as well as questions that have associated follow-ups, Action Items, comments, or Observations.
Focus Mode
Clicking the Focus Mode icon enables a full-screen view for answering audit questions. Within Focus Mode, users can filter questions by individual section, status (Answered or Unanswered), or by questions that have associated follow-ups, Action Items, Comments, or Observations.
Follow-Up Questions
In some cases, a follow-up question may appear after an answer is selected. When a follow-up is available, a green Follow Up button will appear alongside the question. Click the button to expand and answer the follow-up question.
Observations
An Observation can be added directly to an individual audit question during execution. This allows users to document notable findings or conditions identified while evaluating a specific question in the field.
To add an Observation to a question:
- Ensure you are on the Observations tab, each questions shows the Observations tab by default.
- Click on the
Add Observation icon.
- Fill out all of the information for the new observation (fields marked with (*) are required).
- Once you have entered all of the details, click the Create button to add the observation to the selected audit question.
Action Items
An Action Item can be added directly to an individual audit question during execution. This allows users to assign and track corrective tasks identified while evaluating a specific question, ensuring follow-up work is captured and clearly assigned.
To add an Action Item to a question:
- Click on the Action Items tab.
- Click on the
Add Action Item icon.
- Fill out all of the information for the new action item (fields marked with (*) are required).
- Once you have entered all of the details, click the Create button to add the action item to the selected audit question.
Comments
A Comment can be added directly to an individual audit question during execution. This allows users to include additional context or notes related to a specific question, which will be accessible from the Comments tab within the audit's details page.
To add a comment to a question:
- Click on the Comments tab.
- Enter a comment in the text field.
- Click the Create Comment button to add the comment to the selected audit question.
Documents/Images
Files can be uploaded and attached directly to an audit during execution. This allows users to associate relevant photos or documents with the audit as supporting evidence or reference material captured in the field.
To add a document/image to a question:
- Click on the Documents/Images tab.
- Click on the Choose File button and select a file from your computer.
- Click on the Upload button to add your file to the selected audit question.
Finishing An Audit
Once all questions have been answered, the audit can be finished and marked as complete. Finishing an audit updates its status from In Progress to Finished, indicating that the execution process has been completed.
To finish an audit:
- After ensuring all audit questions are answered, click on the Mark As Complete button.
- Use the
checkbox to
confirm completion and proceed.
- Click on the Confirm button to execute and complete the audit.
